Our Steels

The following steels are mainly used for the production of knives that we sell from stock:

Steel 1.2360 / 1.2360 mod
This steel is definitely the best steel for use in wood chipping. Knives made of this steel are used when the material to be shredded is of clean quality and foreign material can be largely excluded. Although it is carbon steel, the steel is largely protected against rust.

Steel 1.2362
This steel has high toughness and compressive strength as well as good wear resistance. The steel is e.g. used for the production of cutting tools for wood processing and is characterized by a very good price-performance ratio. Knives made of this steel are used when the material to be shredded can often contain foreign materials (e.g. trunks with nails or shrapnel or even roots are chopped up). Also good for renting shredders with a mixed clientele.
